Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 28, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Waypoint Dynamics, Inc. (“WayPoint,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the WayPoint Marketplace platform (the “Platform”). By using the Platform, you agree to this Policy. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information — name, email address, company name, role (homeowner, GC, or sub), and password credentials.
- Profile information — business details, service areas, trades, qualifications, and documents you upload such as licenses, insurance certificates (COI), and W-9s.
- Project and transaction content — project descriptions, budgets, addresses, photos and plans, bids, messages, selections, reviews, and ratings.
- Communications — messages you send through the Platform and to our support team.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data — log data, IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and similar analytics, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Information from third parties
- Limited transaction and verification data from our payment processor, and information from publicly available records where we offer claimable directory listings.
3. How We Use Information
- operate, provide, and maintain the Platform and your account;
- match homeowners with contractors, facilitate bids, selections, and payments, and surface reputation information;
- send transactional notifications (account, bid, payment, document, and compliance reminders) and, where permitted, occasional updates;
- provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, and keep the Platform secure;
- analyze usage to improve and develop features; and
- comply with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Information
- With other users — your profile, reputation, and submissions are shared with the users they are intended for. To protect your privacy, certain contact details (such as email and phone) are withheld until a bid is accepted or you choose to share them, after which they become available to the counterparty so the project can proceed.
- With service providers — we use trusted vendors to run the Platform, including hosting and database infrastructure, our payment processor, our email-delivery provider, and analytics. They may process your information only to provide services to us.
- For legal reasons — when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of WayPoint, our users, or others.
- In a business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Payment Information
Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor. When you make a payment, your bank-account or card details are provided directly to that processor on its secure pages; WayPoint does not collect or store full payment-card or bank-account numbers. We receive limited confirmation and status information needed to record the transaction.
6. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the Platform, and understand how it is used. We use privacy-conscious analytics to measure aggregate usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We may retain certain records (such as transaction and compliance records) for longer where required.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including access controls, encryption in transit, and scoped database permissions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your credentials confidential and notify us of any suspected unauthorized access.
9. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and update — you can view and edit much of your account and profile information directly in the Platform.
- Deletion — you may request deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to records we must retain by law or for legitimate business purposes.
- Marketing — you may opt out of non-essential marketing emails; transactional messages necessary to your account will continue.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.
10. Children's Privacy
The Platform is intended for users 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-Party Links
The Platform may link to third-party websites or services that we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy practices.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
